Thumb Shape USB Sticks  

Japan’s Solid Alliance unveiled a new USB 2.0 “thumb” drive that is shaped like a thumb. The unit comes in a 128MB capacity and is compatible with Windows, Mac OS, and Linux.
We just can’t imagine what else Solid Alliance has up their sleeves. The thumb drive will go on sale for 7,800 Yen ($71 USD) this month in Japan.
No word when it will be released in the North America.

Philips Ultra Low-cost Mobile Phones  

Royal Philips Electronics yesterday announced a global initiative to develop ultra low-cost mobile phones to bring the benefits of the technology to an untapped global customer base of 3.3 billion people. The first product from the project will be a sub-$5 system solution – an integrated hardware and software platform constituting all the electronics needed in a mobile phone – that will drive handset costs below $20, fueling already fast-growing markets in regions including China, India, Africa, South America and Eastern Europe.
