DMB, or Digital Multimedia Broadcasting, still isn’t coming to America, but LG is addressing one of the problems inherent in watching live broadcast TV on your cellphone — namely, whether or not you should to stop to answer that important phone call when you’re in the middle of watching the big game or whatever — with a new TiVo-like handset.
LG Electronics unveils the world’s first digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) phone with a so-called ‘time machine’ function. While watching the broadcast, users can answer phone calls without worrying about missing important parts as the time-machine function in the phone saves them for replay. The phone will be introduced at the Korea Electronics Show 2005 which opens Tuesday at the Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX) in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province.
