micro PLCs

AutomationDirect has introduced two new communications options for the DL05/DL06 micro PLC family. The D0-DCM Communications module adds two serial ports to any DL05 or DL06 PLC, supporting a variety of standard protocols. The F0-CP128 CoProcessor module offers three serial communication ports that are configurable using the module’s full BASIC programming capability. Either module can be installed in the option slot of the DL05 or in any of the four option slots available on the DL06 PLC models.

The D0-DCM Dual Port Serial data communications module’s applications include PC to PLC communications for programming and data collection, PLC to HMI interface, and PLC to PLC data exchange. Both ports support MODBUS RTU, DirectNET, and K-Sequence slave network protocols; Port 2 can also operate as a DirectNET or MODBUS master. Port 1 is an RS-232 interface that can operate at baud rates from 9600 bps to 115.2 Kbps. Port 2 can be configured for RS-232 or RS422/485 (only MODBUS supports RS485) data interfaces, and can operate at baud rates from 300 bps to 115.2 Kbps. The D0-DCM is priced at $129.

The F0-CP128 Triple Port OverDrive CoProcessor module is a specialty module that simplifies applications requiring ASCII communications with devices such as barcode readers and serial printers. The module features a 100MHz clock speed, RS-232 or RS485 data interface options, and baud rates up to 512 Kbps. With full BASIC programming available on the module, the three ports can be custom-configured for two-way ASCII communications with almost any serial device. The BASIC capability also complements the DL05/06 PLC’s CPU by allowing the user to more easily perform complex math calculations (sine, cosine, square root), or devise custom algorithms that would be difficult to program with Relay Ladder Logic. The F0-CP128 is priced at $185.
