Bring Your Gadgets Back to Action

As all the other How To articles are very educational and useful, I’ll keep on doing that and add another nice one to the list.

For sure most of you have experienced the horror of liquid spilling into your rawkin new gadgets at one time or another. Of course, there’s bound to be irrepairable damage in a lot of cases, but sometimes there’s hope for revival.

A friend of Chris J over at Grynx had one such liquid related incident recently. A leaky roof had been dripping gunky water into a LinkSys router and with the help of a little patience, some Qtips and the spouse’s toothbrush, they were back online in about 24 hours.

Chris just posted a detailed, step-by-step how-to guide on his blog documenting the entire process. Have a look, and be sure to bookmark or print it out for future reference.

Water damage happens to all of us sooner or later, whether it be a coffee spill, leaky roof or basement, R&C in your hard disk or your kid giving your laptop a drink, so be prepared.
