Designers and engineers studied the Camarasaurus, a dinosaur from the Jurassic period in order to create Pleo, a recreation born from that study. The robotic dinosaur’s physiology was developed from the fossils of the original. Pleo is a designer species that incorporates the traits of autonomous life. He is engineered to mimic life and relate to his owner on a personal level.
