Electronics components distributor Digi-Key Corp., Thief River Falls MN, and IEEE 802.15.4 and ZigBee chip provider Jennic Ltd., Sheffield, England, have signed a distribution agreement.
Digi-Key will stock and deliver Jennic’s complete line of SoC products, ranging from the flagship JN5121 single chip wireless microcontroller to the JN5121-MO family of modules, including one with up to 100mW of transmit power. Development tools and evaluation kits for the platform will also be available.
Jennic is a fabless semiconductor company with expertise in systems and software combined with leading-edge RF and digital chip design.
It provides low cost, highly integrated silicon devices for the low power, short range wireless data market with a focus on IEEE 802.15.4 and ZigBee standards.
The company’s products include state-of-the-art low power wireless microcontrollers, transceivers and low cost development platforms.
Its products will be available in Digi-Key print and online catalogs and available for purchase directly from the distributor. The agreement with will allow Digi-Key to fulfill the design as well as the production needs of its customers worldwide.
