USB Interface

GF Piping Systems has introduced the Signet 3-0250, a new interface device that allows USB connection of blind Signet Sensors to PCs/Laptops, creating a multi-functional tool conversion of the S3L (Signet Sensor Serial Link) signal to ASCII data is performed seamlessly through the system and is easily readable on the screen.

When used in the Configuration mode, the new device offers customers unlimited flexibility to custom configure factory set parameters on any blind GF Piping Signet Sensor, including flow, pH/ORP, pressure, temperature and level. Sensor parameters can be displayed directly on the screen, written from the screen to the sensor, and easily saved or restored. With unlimited field configuration cycles, users reduce service costs and gain the convenience of immediate in-house or field control.

The Diagnostic mode allows users to monitor continuous data of process values and 4-20mA values as they are displayed and graphed on the PC screen. This data can also be logged to a saved file. A valuable aid for trouble-shooting, the logging function can quickly determine whether the sensor is working in the event the system goes down.

“The new 3-0250 provides users with a new tool that eliminates power restrictions with laptops, expands configuration capabilities to most Signet blind sensors, and provides a method of monitoring and logging data from blind sensors to PCs/laptops,” said Dave Vollaire, Product Manager, GF Piping Systems.

The 3-0250 is manufactured from ABS material and accepts 3-wire S3L input and USB 1.0 or 2.0 output. The device is CE approved and RoHS and WEEE compliant. Compact in size, the unit measures just 70 mm (2.76″) in length and 27mm (1.06″) in width.
